Waste Carrier, AATF & WEEE

Since July 2007, the UK has operated a take-back, reuse or treat and recycle scheme for used electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). This is intended to reduce the amount of untreated waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) going to landfill and to ensure that components are collected separately and processed correctly. What is an AATF?

An AATF is a licensed ATF site carrying out treatment on electrical and electronic waste. Treatment can include repair and refurbishment for reuse. When items are beyond repair treatments include depopulation, dismantling, shredding and the recovery of precious metals and plastics. An AATF operator can issue evidence notes for the treatment, recovery or recycling of WEEE. AATF status ensures Ultratec is able to offer WEEE solutions for any user or producer of IT.

Ultratec’s highly skilled team of engineers and technicians is what separates us from other AATFs, so your data is in safe hands. We have the capacity to repair items of IT that others have disposed of or deemed beyond repair. This results in increased reuse yields and reduced environmental impact.

This is why many organisations, including the Ministry Of Defence, are choosing Ultratec as their preferred partner for the safe disposal of their data and waste electrical and electronic equipment.
