Stevenage, UK – Ultratec, a leading provider of data security services and solutions, announces that
it has rebranded the data destruction and specialist recycling business it acquired in 2017 from Else
Refining & Recycling to UltraRecycle.
The creation of UltraRecycle marks the successful integration of Else Refining & Recycling into the
Ultratec Group. Managing Director, Jason Else, will continue to drive growth in UltraRecycle,
providing end to end data disposal and hardware recycling services in the IT Asset Disposal (ITAD)
sector.
Global generation of e-waste is predicted to grow by 17% by 2021, from 44.7 million metric tonnes
in 2016 to 55.2 million metric tonnes per annum. In 2016 only 20% of all e-waste was recycled
(source: Global E-Waste Monitor 2017).
This rebrand of the division to UltraRecycle follows the launch on 20 June 2018 of UltraSupport
Services, a new Ultratec division that further expands Ultratec’s offering. The new business will focus
on providing third party maintenance (TPM) services to the IT channel services market.
Ian Turnbull, CEO of Ultratec Group, said:
“UltraRecycle will build on Else Refining’s expertise and excellent customer service, from
over 30 years of operating in the ITAD sector. The division is now fully integrated into the
Ultratec Group and we have already seen a clear financial contribution from the addition of
its services and solutions to our suite of data destruction services.
“UltraRecycle has strengthened our platform for growth over the medium and long term and
we look forward to working with Jason and his team to further position the Ultratec Group as
a leading end to end provider of highly compliant and environmentally friendly data
destruction services.”
Jason Else, MD of UltraRecycle, said:
“Data security is a major priority for all businesses and organisations in 2018, with the
implementation of GDPR underscoring the importance of effective data disposal.
UltraRecycle is environmentally compliant with Approved Authorised Treatment Facility
status and can both destroy data and recycle IT assets under one roof.
“Since joining the Ultratec Group last year our Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
(WEEE) recycling business has continued to grow. We have benefited significantly from
access to the expertise, infrastructure and financial resources of Ultratec and look forward to
further growth, providing a truly end to end service for our customers.”
