The Past

Ultratec, formed in May 1996 quickly established it's place in the European Computer Storage market place as a supplier and recycler of all disk/tape based data storage peripherals. By utilizing our technical repair capability stretching back to the Control Data Corp. days of market dominance, we quickly established a reputation as a formidable force in the Data Recovery and repair/refurbishment market place. We were able to offer our customers a fast and cost effective solution in the event of a 'crashed hard disk' saving the user's invaluable work. Time and time again customer referrals would result in an increased workload, resulting in the company's first move of premises from Hitchin to Letchworth in 1997.

Links with the OEM's meant that steady contracts for repair and recycling of disk and tape based product were established, further increasing the work-load. After three years of steady growth and consolidation another move was inevitable, and in 2000 a move to our current HQ in Baldock, Herts was completed. An 8500sq. ft. facility meant that the company could continue to grow and by 2001 the company employed 20 people.

The Present

Operating out of nearly 20,000sq. ft. state of the art Engineering & Warehousing facility, today Ultratec, an ISO 9001-2000 registered company employs over 30 people. We have an inventory of over 100,000 peripherals and enjoy an annual turnover of circa U.S.$7 million.

A well-established company within the industry, the use of the Internet has allowed us a customer base knowing no geographical boundaries, with our products being shipped to all corners of the globe.

The Future

Our new Headquaters will facilitate future growth, and continual expansion is planned. Ultratec will use our prominent role in the Computer Storage market place to support our expansion, both in our output and the products we supply.

We are continually monitoring our service levels, and will implement new facilities to further increase the high level of satisfaction we offer to our customers to ensure we hold our strong position within the market place

We are currently investigating expansion into other areas of the computer market place, to enable us to offer our high quality level of service to our customers to meet demands in other areas, and allowing us to keep in line for our target of becoming Europe's number One.
